Training Levels

Obedience

The Basic Obedience is for dogs 6 months and older. Typically, training is 4-5 weeks, however, each dog is different, and training will be tailored to each dog’s needs and abilities. Basic Obedience training teaches your pup to pay attention to commands and listen in a distracted environment. At the end of training owners will learn the commands used during training so that they can continue their companions training once they get home.

Basic Gun Dog

Basic Gun Dog is a minimum 4-month program in addition to the Basic Obedience Program. Basic Gun Dog starts with the basic obedience training to establish a baseline training foundation. During Basic level training dogs run single marks and short distance double marks while delivering to hand. This will give your dog the confidence in/and around different types of hunting grounds and water scenarios. It is important to note that all training levels for dogs to retain what they have learned will need to continue to train with their owners once they get home.

Advanced Gun Dog

Advanced Gun Dog is a minimum of 4 months in addition to the Basic Gun Dog program. Dogs will learn double and triple marks on land and water as well as other complicated obedience tasks required for a gun dog. The biggest difference with this level is going to be learning tasks such as casting, blind retrieves, honoring other hunting dogs, and staying on task with multiple distractions. It is important to note that for dogs to retain what they have learned, they need to continue to train with their owners once they get home.
